'Brighton & Hove is a beautiful and historic city. Referred to as ‘London by the sea’ due to its cosmopolitan atmosphere and population. Starting out as a small fishing village Brighton and Hove has progressed to a forward thinking & environmentally aware city. The whole population get involved when celebrating traditions. The Brighton festival happens annually and celebrates everything local even the children get involved with their own parade through the streets of Brighton & Hove. The city is perfectly situated on the south coast, which appeals to people of all ages. We have the sea on one side with the beautiful South Downs national park on the other. The seafront is a major draw for all with attractions such as the Brighton Pier and the near by famous Royal Pavilion (not quite Cinderella castle though!). We are always looking to the future, in fact there’s a consortium trying to get a monorail running along the seafront in the near future just like Walt Disney imagined all those years ago!! Being family friendly is also a priority for the city. This includes ‘no car days’ where areas of the city are car free. This allows families to enjoy the streets to their entirety. There are also events that include both the young and the young at heart, bringing generations together with fun and excitement. I can only imagine Walt Disney himself being an inspiration to our city as many of his beliefs still ring true today including “keep moving forward”.'
